Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that is made up of two or more layers of float glass. The glass goes through a process of tempering, which makes it stronger, and is then bonded together using a polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer, which is heated and compressed under high pressure to ensure the layers of glass are securely fastened.

The result is that laminated glass offers the strength of tempered glass, as well as the added safety benefit of preventing shards from falling off in case of breakage. Laminated glass is particularly useful in areas where special safety requirements are necessary.
